TOP 5 DECEMBER 2010

Welcome to my TOP 5... This will be my list I edit each month to show exactly what products I LOVE LOVE LOVE for the month... the beauty products that really rocked my world....
I will pre warn you, you may want to make yourself a coffee.. could be a long one. ENJOY!

So lets start with DECEMBER 2010

#1:

Ahhhhhh... M.A.C Strobe cream.
Anyone who knows me, anyone who has worked with me, all know how much I adore this product. It is the one product that is ALWAYS a constant in my daily make up routine. This is one fast acting, hydrating, luminescent cream that works well on its own or under make-up.

It was honestly LOVE at first wear, it just made my skin feel glowy, lifted and alive. From the very first time I wore strobe I noticed everyone commented on how beautiful my skin looked... Who wouldn't love that?

Strobe cream has not taken the place of my moisturiser, more like it is the perfect addition to it. You only need to use a small amount, because a little goes a long way. You don't even have to use it all over the face, you may just want to add brightness around the eyes or on the cheek bones maybe a little on the forehead.. where ever you decide to use it is up to you, I will say though, it is well worth the purchase.

Essie nail polish in "FIJI"

This colour would have to be one of the most stunning baby pinks with a lil more pink to it if you know what I mean... It's kinda milky, but in a good way..opaque without looking like a warmer version of white out, it's just well pretty puuurrrrfect. I am strongly considering this be my manicure colour for my up coming wedding (will keep you posted on that one as I am on the hunt for the perfect wedding paw colour).

Essie, for those of you not in the know is definetly up there with OPI. You really cannot fault the colour payoff, consistency and lasting power of these polishes. The price of these little bottles of joy may be viewed by some as pricey, ($18.95 aus) however very well worth it. The range of colour choice is pretty fab too!

I highly recommend though, as i do with most polish colours, keep your nails well manicure and on the shorter side. Classy.

M.A.C Pro long wear concealer...

My oh my where have you been all my life? This is one product I had been very patiently waiting for.. how I wished for it when I worked there back in the day (ahhh happy memories).

This concealer, I think is pretty phanom... now I say this being the kind of person who loves to wear make-up. Natural and glammed up... Loves it all!!! For those of you that prefer to stay on the lighter side of concealers, you may feel pro long wear is a little too heavy duty. (A post is coming soon all the different kinds of concealers and how to achieve the most natural application).

As the name suggests it is a professional long wear product. You need to work quite quickly (although it is quite user friendly). For the best application I am really enjoying using either a flat foundation brush or a smaller blending brush. A little does go a long way. Brill on the eyelids prior to shadow... or as I like it with no shadow at all. I have to say the coverage is flawless, so much so that I have started using the pro long wear concealers as my foundation.

NW25 (warmer tone) for under eye over the nose, top lip and temples then switch to NC30 (more golden tone) for everywhere else. Lightly set with powder, bronzer or blush.. what ever takes your fancy and you will see that your make up WILL last the entire day!!

Now I will warn that you may want to sample some first as the colours can be a little deeper / stronger than other much loved M.A.C bases, but once a colour suits you will LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Napoleon Perdis Loose dust #37 (Sand Beige)

I am a shimmer freak. It is my weakness. I cannot tell you how many brides I have used this stunning colour on.. from a little shimmer on the high planes of the face to all over the eyelid for that oh so romantic sheen that makes those googs sparkle.

Napoleon got it right with this colour. The amount of comments I get when I wear this, especially when I just foccus on my skin, lips and lashes people ALWAYS ask what is that shimmer you are wearing? or what is that eyeshadow?

It is a great multi functional product too, not only can you use it on its own but can also be mixed in some clear gloss for the lips, some mixing medium on an angle brush for that high metallic eyeliner or just a good old dollop in your body moisturiser. YUM.

Oh and (unless you drop it in your bathroom as I have done twice) it will last you forever!!!!

GO. GET. SOME.

And now... Number 5 for the month of DECEMBER....
If you haven't yet, you need some CHANEL in your life!!!! Let me introduce you to "SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL" (formally known as bronze universal).
Where to start? The texture of this thickened creme is stunning, it is so easy to use as well and the colour... the colour is the perfect "I've just been to Cabo" bronze...

I have been using this every single day for the past 5.5 months.... I have touched pan, but still have a ways to go. I use it to contour (cheek bones, temples, side of nose and just a little under the chin. The creme is so soft and blends beautifully without you even having to try. You can even wear it on its own, over foundations or lightly buffed on top of your powder. The colour pay off is so natural that it really works on so many skin tones. There is a slight shimmer to the product but not OTT. Really gives that healthy glow.

And really, can we talk about the packaging??? simple and so chic!
